Viscosity index: the degree to which the viscosity of an oil changes with temperature, relative to the degree to which the standard oil changes. The higher the value, the less affected by the temperature.

Viscosity: the resistance between molecules of a liquid when it is moved by external forces is called viscosity.

Flash point: the lowest temperature at which the oil is heated to its steam forming a mixture with the surrounding air under specified conditions, when contact with the flame produces a flash fire.

Pour point: the lowest temperature at which the oil is cooled to a solid state.
